You can access the Search function at any time to search
for specific content on the current site.

Performing a search
To perform a search:

Click the Search link at the top of the screen.
- Choose
the appropriate content area for your search from the drop-down menu provided.
You
can choose to search using the following search scopes:
- Blogs – Search the various student,
teacher, and administrator blogs that have been given an appropriate visibility.
- Calendar Events – Search upcoming and past calendar events.
- Class Pages – Search class pages that have been created at the
current site.
- Google Search – Use a
Google-powered full-text search to locate your keywords on your site.
- Discussions
– Search all class and group discussions that exist on your site.
- Group Pages – Search group pages that have been created at the
current site.
- Members – Search
for fellow members of the current site.
- Resources – Search for resources that
have been posted by teachers or other users on the current site.
Note: The names of these scopes (e.g. Class Pages,
Group Pages) are default names for these categories; they may appear
differently depending on how they have been named on your site.
- Enter the desired keyword(s) for your search in the field provided.
- Click the Go button to launch your search.
Viewing search results
The page of search results
will display information about any results that the system has located.
This information
may include:
- Blogs – Last/First (name of blog owner), Blog Title, Page/Post Title,
and the Location of Match
- Calendar Events – Name of Event, Date/Time, and which
Calendar it appears on
- Class Pages - Class Name, Instructors, Departments, Schedule,
Room #
- Google Search – Brief abstract of result, with keywords highlighted in
yellow
- Group Pages – Group Name, Schedule, and Category
- Members – Name, Position
- Resources – Resource Name, Description, Location, Type
Note: The names of these scopes (e.g. Class Pages,
Group Pages) are default names for these categories; they may appear
differently depending on how they have been named on your site.
